Although you can often find so-called "cheaper" salon name "knockoffs" online for an even cheaper price, be careful here. Oftentimes, these knockoff products use the same active ingredients, true, but they also use different and cheaper so-called "inactive" ingredients. Even though they're called "inactive" ingredients, they can make a big difference in how the product does its job. Therefore, cheaper substitutions with these ingredients can make a big difference, too. You could even have unpleasant allergic reactions with these types of ingredient substitutions.

In short, stick with what you know works; if you can't find your favorite brand online, it's pretty easy to try another by going to a salon that uses those products just once to see if they work. If they do, you know you can use those products and you can buy them pretty inexpensively online. This can save you a lot of money over the long run, and your hair will look just as great as if you visited the salon.

Finally, make sure you read reviews before you buy anything from a particular online retailer. If the store gets good reviews, then you know you will always get the products they advertise and that you actually order. If the store doesn't get good reviews, though, find another. There are lots of places that want to make you happy so that you will come back for more business. Look for good reviews and only shop at the stores that have happy, satisfied customers.
