Should You Air Dry Or Blow Dry?

There is a very big event coming up in the near future and of course, you want to look your best. You do all the regular shopping for just the perfect gown, and get your nails done. Now it is time to do something about your hair.

However, many young women wonder if it is best to let your hair air dry, or blow dry your hair? One thing to remember is that if your hair is short, you may want to let your hair air dry simply because short hair dries very quickly. If you area planning to use some sort of hair gel it, it is better to put them in your hair before they dry.

No matter if your hair is short or long air drying your hair is ultimately the way to take care of your hair. Air drying does not burn or cause your hair to frizz as it does when you blow dry it. Of course, if you are one of the young women that do not like to go around with wet hair until it dries, or you just feel uncomfortable while you are waiting for it to dry, then by all means go ahead and blow dry it.

However, when you are blow drying your hair there are some hair drying techniques that should be used. One of the most important things to remember as you blow dry your hair is to hold the blower approximately one foot away from your head, to help prevent over heating at the base of the hair at the scalp. Many women who use a hair dryer are in a very big hurry so they use the blower for fast results.

One should always remember that after showering your hair is at its weakest point. Many women have the misconception that rubbing your hair with the towel is good for drying it. They do not know that since their hair is weak right after showering, and rubbing it with the towel could cause unnecessary hair breakage.

Instead, use the towel to remove excess water before you begin to blow dry it. It is a good idea to leave your hair a little bit damp and let the air finish doing the rest. However, if you are going to use hair spray to hold the hair in place you can dry it a little more.

Many employers and other people see people come in the office with what is called the wet look. Everyone seems to think that people whose hair is still wet that they were in such a hurry they just did not have time to finish getting ready. This would be one of the cases where using a blow dryer may be the best.

These days there are low diffused driers that have been manufactured especially for people who are in a rush. The worry about whether or not your hair will be damaged has now been done away with. Some hair specialist, insist on these types of hair dryers, and state that people who use hair color should always use these low current hair dryers, to help hold the color in.

So the preference about which way to dry your hair is definitely left up to each individual.
